Jonathan Schmidt-Ott

Jonathan Schmidt-Ott is an artist based in Berlin. Before studying montage
at the HFF Film School Potsdam-Babelsberg “Konrad Wolf”, he worked
as a freelance editor for music videos and commercials. Throughout his studies,
he extended his field of work to features, documentaries, installations and experimental film.

Besides film Jonathan Schmidt-Ott takes great interest in still images.
Photography has grown to be an important medium to deconstruct visual reality
into series of artifacts with a somewhat poetic approach.

Lately Jonathan Schmidt-Ott has also become more interested in language and text,
in a slightly iconoclastic style, employing the mind to generate images.

No matter what, Jonathan Schmidt-Ott is always looking to enhance the idea
through montage to generate a coherent whole.
